Dubai Midnight Marathon 2012

Since the announcement of the Dubai Midnight Marathon by Dubai Sports Council, excitement is building up for the event! Marathon addicts and running enthusiasts are overwhelmed by the feeling that a lot of star runners will accompany them during the race. You may find it creepy, considering running at night, but is definitely an altogether different experience than a daytime marathon. The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) is conducting this exceptional marathon to promote Dubai as a safe tourist destination and an excellent place for long term living.
The Dubai Midnight Marathon (DMM) night race launch will take place at the Emmar Boulevard and Burj Khalifa Park on December 12, 2012. It also plans to make a world record for the largest eco-board featuring the largest number of logos. The actual running race will kick off on the December 13 night at 11:00 pm with a 3.2 km fun run. Other activities and events for families and kids start at 6:00 pm.

This is the inaugural year of DMM, a solitary fun run race. A full-length marathon attracting world-renowned professional marathoners will take place from next year.
