Dubai Set to Build Museum of the Future
In the continuous efforts to build innovative and revolutionary architectural structures, Dubai has announced plans to create a Museum of the Future.
In addition to the present Dubai attractions such as The Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Museum, Jumeirah Mosque and many others, Dubai continues to create unique attractions that cannot be found anywhere else. The Museum of the Future will highlight inventions and the people who created them from around the world. Current Dubai museums focus on historical artefacts from art and culture. Museums in Dubai have been well regarded for their curation, renting and buying pieces of art that represent revolutionary artists and movements.
The Museum of the Future will be the first of its kind, both in subject matter and in architectural design. The estimated construction cost of it is $136 million. The Museum of the Future will be one of the most expensive museums built in the last decade, and will also serve as a state of the art research centre. It will be located near the city’s financial district and only seven minutes from the tallest building in the world. Although the museum will showcase the designs and ideas that come from its research activity, foreign discoveries and products will also be invited to exhibit in the building. It is set to open in 2017 and construction has already begun of the unique torus-shaped structure.
