Horse racing events have been organised in Dubai for over 40 years, where the first horse racing event was hosted in 1981 at the Camel Track. Possibly the biggest breakthrough for horse racing in Dubai was the Dubai World Cup, which took place in 1996.

Nowadays, the horse races in Dubai are taking place at the Meydan Racecourse and which hosts one of the biggest events in the world. These horse racing events are also very popular for bettors where many of them use some bonus codes in order to place a bet.

Upcoming Horse Racing Events in Dubai

Since Dubai’s long horse racing history is well known to horse racing fans, it goes without saying that every event that is organized there will attract a lot of attention from all around the world. The new season at the Meydan Racecourse will start on the 4th of November and it will host 21 fixtures.

All of these horse racing events are leading up to Dubai World Cup, which will take place in March next year. The Dubai World Cup is one of the biggest horse racing tournaments in the world at the moment, where the total prize money tops $30.5 million.

On the 5th of January 2023, the 20th edition of the Dubai World Cup Carnival will begin, which is known for bringing together the best horses, jockeys, and trainers from all around the world. The prize money for this Carnival is going over $7.5 million, which will definitely motivate every participant.

The Dubai World Cup Carnival will take place between January and March 2021 at the Meydan Racecourse, which will culminate in the “Super Saturday” on the 4th of March 2023. If you aren't familiar with "Super Saturday", it is the official dress rehearsal for the awaited Dubai World Cup.

This Carnival was established back in 2004 and since then horse racing fans have witnessed some truly amazing horse racing events. The 2023 Carnival is set to feature several new races, including the Thunder Snow Challenge, which will be an over 2,000 meters race on dirt with $150,000 prize money.

Another highly anticipated new horse race that is included in the Carnival is the Ipi Tombe Stakes, which is a race for fillies and mares on the turf of over 1,400 meters. The prize money for this race is also set at $150,000.

It is worth noting that this race is honouring the Zimbabwe-bred mare who triumphed in the Dubai Duty-Free tournament back in 2003.

The Purebred Arabian horses will also have their own race starting this season, which is titled UAE Sprint Championship. Other Arabian races at the Meydan Racecourse will have a Group status, including three Group 1 legs of the well-known Maktoum Challenge series.

This season's Carnival will also provide more than enough opportunities for handicappers, with 20 handicap horse races, which are divided into dirt and turf. Every single one of these handicap horse races comes with a minimum of $75,000 in prize money.

We will also witness the return of the Jumeirah Turf Series for three-year-olds for a second season. Nations Pride, which was the last year's winner of the Jumeirah Derby, went on to compete in the G1 Cazoo Derby at Epsom.
